		<description>In the C programming language, anything non zero would evaluate to true in an if statement.  You can test for memory addresses, set parameters, etc.  NULL == 0 so that&#039;s why it works.  As for boolean types, C99 (or C++) introduced them.  Most of the time, you just deal with an int (which is what a bool is in c).
